I think it would be great to have the ability to sort the ad zones under the settings in OIOPublisher in the admin panel.
I have created my zones and enabled them then realised they would have better exposure if I listed the zones in a particular way.
This is a ‘nice-to-have’ request. Instead of having to throw in an HTML comment for default ads, it would be nice to have a description field for each default ad. This would be really useful when you rotate a large # of default ads and can’t tell them apart based just on its JavaScript, HTML, [...]
When testing Default Ads, deleting ad code and/or re-pasting is a bit of a pain. Idea: include a checkbox that deactivates a default ad, without having to delete it outright (not to mention having to change the # of default ads to rotate). When you’re ready to throw the ad back in, uncheck the box.
Piwiki is open source alternative to Google Analytics. I wish OIO would integrate with Piwik to offer better tracking of CTR, impressions for ads, etc.
Have a setting to indicate how many days in advance the expiry and reminder emails are sent to the advertiser. Currently they get the email after expiration, which can cause a pause in their ad.
Have an option to put “Advertise here” text link in a very small font under the banner ad that links to the purchase page.
It would be pretty awesome if OIO would support targeting for (WP) authors, tags, pages, etc. AND/OR include URL targeting, so advertiser can copy and paste url where they want to display their ad. It could use simple $_SERVER['REQUEST_URI'] function and use if-else statements to do work.
Here’s a suggestion to promote marketplace. Include an option of turning marketplace ads on. Include few universal ads and allow us to promote marketplace by including ads on our website… I think it goes along with your “communal” idea of promotion.
